Summer School Experience at Canterbury Christ Church University 2019

It was a wonderful experience to participate in a summer program organized by Canterbury Christ Church University which titled itself as a summer school on Federalism, Conflict resolution and good governance. It was a two week program where most of the lectures focused on federalism and adjoining theories in political science. There were 22 participants   from all over the globe. The participants included politicians   journalists, social workers and students. We had discussions on the working of various federal states and their competency with other states.

Apart from lectures, everyday a seminar session would be conducted to ensure enhancement in practical knowledge among the participants. A city tour was also conducted around Canterbury where they detailed us about the historical significance of each structures. A day was segregated to take the participants to London and we got an opportunity to visit the British parliament and other buildings around it which included London Bridge, Tower Bridge, Buckingham palace and more places. The summer school also provided great variety of British, Lebanese and Chinese cuisine. Accommodation facilities were arranged by the university along with twenty four hours security service.

In short, it was a great and memorable experience for me as it helped me abundantly in gaining more knowledge in academics and outside it. The summer school preached accommodation of differences in culture, language, tradition of various countries. I’m really grateful to the Department of International studies and History of CHIRST (Deemed To be University) for guiding and supporting me throughout the proceedings of summer school.
